Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my money going?

Life After Hate, to help fund their fight against hate.

How does my pledge help slow the spread of hate speech on Twitter?

Once we've "countered" a tweet containing hate speech, each retweet will commit a $1 donation to a non-profit that fights hate, giving pause to those looking to spread it. The more pledged donations we have, the more tweets we can counter. Our current beneficiary is Life After Hate.

How do you define hate speech in tweets?

Hate speech is speech which attacks a person or group on the basis of attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, disability, or gender.

Can I send you hate tweets or Twitter handles of repeat offenders?

Yes, please do. You’ll find a form on our Contact page that allows you to get in touch with us.

How do you find hate tweets to sponsor?

We use social listening to identify Twitter accounts that are repeat offenders. We then use our Artificial Intelligence platform to identify hate speech in tweets posted from those accounts. If you want to geek out on it click here.

You sponsored my tweet but I don’t think it’s hate speech. What can I do?

Sorry to hear that. Please get in touch using the form on our Contact page.

How much of my donation is going to Life After Hate?

Aside for the small service fee, collected by Public Good, all money received goes to Life After Hate. We don’t keep anything.

How can I contact you?

Please use the form on our Contact page.

Can I cancel my monthly pledge?

Absolutely. You can cancel at any point by logging into your Public Good account. But please be aware that there are no refunds once a donation has been made to help fund this cause.

How much can I donate every month?

The minimum sponsorship donation is $5. There is no maximum donation cap.
